    I was at a rest area in Wyoming yesterday and strolled over t check out the nature area. I stepped through a brick archway and walked down the path. A moment later another traveler told me I walked right past a four foot rattlesnake curled up just inside the archway. I'm still trying to figure out why he didn't strike.

    Rattlers are very unwelcome.

    Some rest areas have raked stones for that reason so they leave a trail.

    It might have been a gopher snake. They look just like a rattlesnake but don't have a rattle on their tail.

    Glad you didn't get bit out there in BFE.
