Looking into doing some local car hauling, just 3-4 car hauler, I have a Volvo VNM200, would this truck be good enough for this type of work, also is the work steady for these types of local loads in the Chicagoland area

Well, it's better then a dually.
Is it a single screw or twin screw truck? Breaking into the market with a 3/4 isn't bad because of the low investment required. The work will be steady but don't expect to get rich soon.

For once someone comes on here wanting to start with a great truck! It's great for local work and even if you wanted to go on a long run there's always hotels.

Problem now is volume. Car hauling is horrible right now, and unfortunately you live in a cheap area for local work. Too many idiots running around for pennies up there.

Call MotorCar or Interlink. They both have short freight out of Chicago area. Just to get started.

Terry270 don't throw in the towel. The one thing that has been a constant in car hauling since I started in 1997 has been change. We just have to adapt and move forward.

What's one example of how you've adapted in the past to accommodate for change?

what do you think is the reason for business being down? And what do you consider to be a good vs bad week?

Is business down all over the country or only certain parts?
