Omg the kid won't even know you're gone until 3, we had no issues with the kids, the wife on the other hand had issues balancing things with sick parents and the kids,
but she got through it.
When my kids were that age, I was on the road doing the consulting thing, much harder than the truck thing and we had no choice.
I came to the conclusion the kids don't remember much until they get to be 8 or 9.TheDudeAbides and FLYMIKEXL Thank this. -
Don't kid yourself on that. My kids are in thier 30s and I'm constantly amazed at the things they remember from an early age.
-
Yeah mine are in there late teens/early 20's now but when I asked them about my absence impacting them, they said "dad who?". As long as I provided and was there when they needed help, mom and the oldest did well.
-
Indeed.
I have memories that go back well beyond age 8. -
Not only that, it is also what you don't remember because you didn't experience it. I.e.-first time walking, first birthday, etc.
-
How the hell would that dude be able to tie his boots with a gut like that? That's not a gut it's a cesspool.
-
I agree. I can still remember a ton of memories from before 8 and I am 51 now.
