    Holidays?

Ugh. Let's say that I order a computer part and ship by truck. It's going UPS or Fed Ex team or Single trailer east from CA. IF I order before a weekend or holiday that trailer is going to SIT and cook or freeze that computer part. No thanks. I fly em in next morning air for a few more dollars.

Those poor drivers are better off teaming. Those trucks never stop. They can't. Mail and express is near the top of the hottest freight there is out there.

    Good luck.

It's probably not a terrible deal for the right guy with the right truck. Main appeal here is that it would be basically all preloaded drop/hook trailers out of the terminals. Some of those teamster terminals even hook the sets up for you which is kind of a PITA from my old days as an OD company man I remember. Sounds like they pay for all the other stuff basically.

Lot of wear and tear on you and your truck running those kind of miles every week though. And where exactly do you park at night for a shower and 10 hour break if you're dragging a set around?

UPS Freight are not teamsters. Basically the teamsters at UPS view the Freight guys as scabs.

I think it varies by state/terminal as to which some are union and some are non union

Pretty sure UPSF is union systemwide. Now UPSF truckload may NOT be union.

Apples to oranges, but top mileage rate for a UPS Feeder guy in my local is 70 cpm, plus bennies, and pension. $1.02/mile seems rather painful, but I'm not, or ever will be, an owner op.

UPS Freight are definitely Teamster members, UPS truckload are not.

    UPS is union I think.
UPS FREIGHT is non union .
UPS Freight is the old Overnite that was bought by UPS.
They seem to operate seperately .
Disclaimer : it's possible I have no idea what I'm talking about.

Freight has been Union for the last eight years.
They are still run separately but a lot of UPSF management is from UPS.

    cisco Thanks this.
