Problem with chromecast is you need a hotspot, and you use the data pff the hotspot. I have 3 i know. One here on the truck that never gets used, and 2 at home that get used daily by my wife and kids

@Gunner75 You said you're using sprint. So it's not an issue for you. Correct????

As for the binge that everyone else is talking about. Looks like that's a Tmo thing. And most are using verizon.

As long as I'm using my phone to stream using the hml not an issue, if o use my phone as a hotspot it is an issue becaise they are two separate data plans

I just got the same thing. It works great! Spent seven hours at a receiver and watching TV is a godsend. I'd like to add that T-Mobilehas reasonable rates on truly unlimited data as well. Food for thought if you're otr.

Nope. That goes into a pool if data that doesn't count against the 6bg. I've been streaming TV 3+ hours a day with it for a week and my data usage shows 175mb used and a total data of 7gb.
    Chromecast is awesome.

You'll have to explain that to me, please. Cuz i'm not quite understanding how it's 2 seperate plans. I have the unlimited plan for $70. I can do whatever i want with it. Last year when i used sprint for my OTR. It was $60 but i had the bring your own phone no credit check thing. I didn't have 2 seperate data plans. But i did have to have root on that phone to use an app.

You might search the android forums to see about that. I'm not sure what you've got going on but i've NEVER had 2 plans for one device. Never had the hotspot feature.

I'm looking at ordering a new phone and the websight isn't even giving me that option for hotspot.

I've had to root before to use hotspot without paying. But i'm not doing root or seeing hotspot offered, now.

My verizon phone doesn't have hotspot plan either. But it's available to use.

The carrier can tell the difference between cell phoneand tethered use. Tethered use is usually an extra add on expense. So hes saying as long as he's using his phone to use the data is unlimited.

That used to be the case. Not anymore. And it was only certain carriers. Verizon and ATT. That's why you root to use an app. And got around that.

Hotspot is part of the package now. It's not even listed anymore with verizon or sprint as far as phones go. And looking at the tablets. You can buy data packages with hotspot included with them, also.

Hotspot is no longer a seperate billed feature.

Hotspot is listed as an addon for sprint. Ive been with sprint for 8 years. Yes you can root your phone to get around it, but then when apps update they can and do break/stop operating. My current plan i have unlimted data on my phone, i use roughly 20gb to as much as 45gb per billing cycle qatching movies. If i use my phone as a hotspot its called tethering, and is a metered service through sprint. I get 3gb of hotspot data in my plan, anything above that can cost as much as an extra $50 a month. No thanks. Id rather just go with what ive been doing as im happy with it.

I wont use verizon, at&t or tmobile. I have 4 phones on my plan, mine, the wife 2 kids. And the only thing that works in my home town is sprint. Verizon is very spotty, at&t you can forget even trying, tmobile is a no go as well.
