That's my plan...learn as much as possible...the money will come once I learn what I'm doing and gain experience. I fly out to dallas for orientation this sunday...your posts have helped me understand a lot about the company and what to expect...so thank you...and take care.

    SHOJim Thanks this.

Just took a break from Trucking and Stevens for three weeks and going to give the company side a chance again. A friend is making $650- 800 a week company side, he could train more bit doesn't.
I did get tanker and passed the haz mat endorsement test in NC. Hoping I can get the haz mat endorsement before 90 days expire and have to retest.

I did fairly well on the company side. Never did lease. Ran a pretty steady 2800 - 3000 miles per week. If the planners trust you, they will keep you running. Big plus is hometime doesn't cost you anything. You don't make anything, bit you don't owe anyone either.

    Good Luck!

Ok so 30 cents per mile isn't something to get excited about.
But miles look good. Especially if you run your clock and use an 8 hour sleeper birth split after a lot of breaks during the day. I'm starting to think training as a company driver won't be bad if I get home for five days every 5 weeks. A friend was bumped up to 33 cents a mile. Become a detention expert to supplement the miles. Ask the pay roll people of your on time and you don't see it in your pay check.
