After being with them 4 months, I'm looking for another job. Overall they'really a great company, I really like working for them. They just don't pay enough and the miles aren't there. Not really a fan of, if you damage anything it's an accident. The medical per week is ridiculous. The mobileye system drives me nuts driving all these two lane roads in the mountains of pa.

Trailers are junk too. All the landing gear on them are dry and rusty and a giant pain to work. Bailing wire and zip ties seem to be the only tools they have to fix anything. Sad part is most are almost new, shows what a lack of maintenance and drivers backing by feel will do.

I went to Maryland the other day for their OR. After five hours I walked out and drove back Home!
    1. Can't use Cell phone or answer it, even if one uses a Bluetooth Handless Headset.

    2. Can not pull over on the side of the road for any reason. Check a Map, Send Qualcomm, Pee, Answer Phone ect...

    3. Everything counts as a Accident! Ripped Mud Flap? Accident and reported as such on DAC.

    4. No Tobacco use, not even Dip!!!

    5. I was Regional but, Local Drivers were still told to bring extra Meds and Clothes. There will be times when you must stay out!

    6. No Apu and Coffin Trucks.

    7. They see you on the road and they will follow you. One Guy who had already started before going to OR had a picture of him driving sent to him my his Yard Manager! Safety Manager told us he will do the samething.

    8. Safety Manager goes to all the Terminals and will Sabotage random Trucks and then "Red-Tag" them to see if the Driver finds the problems! WTH? His words exactly.

    9. Can not post anything about the Company, good or Bad online.

    10. The final straw was....... Our Road test was to be taken in a MINI-VAN!!! WTH?

If one feels like Driving for a crap Company that treat you like a child and worse than even Stevens treats a Rookie, then be my guest. They require one year experience and treat you as if you're still in Driving School. Four years and a perfect record, even a perfect PSP and CSA too. No reason to deal with scumbag Companies like this.

    1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 8 and 9 are not bad.

Hate to see where you are used to driving for. Just any two of those examples alone are worth not working for someone.
    1. I am a full grown adult. Living inside a Truck for days on end, I have things I need to deal with from day to day. Somebody calls me, or I need to make a Call, I'm not about to stop driving for that.

2.If it is safe to do so, I will pull over, if need be, to check a Map, answer a Qualcomm or even pee. Heck of a lot faster and easier to do so than waiting for a TS or Rest Area. You know, like a real Adult would.

    4. I Dip, therefore I WILL Dip when I choose to. It doesn't mess-up the Truck nor harm anyone else but me. Again, I am an Adult.

    5. I wasn't Local, as I said. However, if that is the position I sign-up for, I would expect to be Home every night! To arbitrarily be told I HAVE to stay out when I was hired for a "Home Nightly" position is just wrong, period!

    6. No, not having an APU of a Coffin Truck in itself is bad. However when you are told the Company doesn't have an Idle Policy and Idle anytime you need to, then to be told you can't Idle but 30% of your total drive time, again that's wrong. Recruiters basically lied. I refuse to work with a liar.

    8. Are you crazy or something? How you can even begin to think this isn't bad is way beyond me!

    9. I agree, it's not a bad thing in of itself. However, the Info I am putting forth would never be disclosed by an Employee.

It would seem, Sir, you have never Driven for any Company where you are free? Where you are treated like an Adult? I will also assume you have never driven for a Company where, if you so choose to, could even drink one or two Beers while on your 10 hr breaks? I may drink four Beers all year long, but it is nice to have the freedom to do so when I feel like it. Many Companies allow this. Even Cowan said it was okay. Which is funny with all their other BS rules.

I am use to driving for a Company where you get your Load Assignment, the Date and Time due and sent off on your way. No nagging, not told where or how much to Fuel, not told which route to drive, nor anything else. Just get there on time and safe. The way Trucking is suppose to be. Any Company that wishes to impose even more BS rules on a Driver than the FMCSA arleady does, is not worth driving for.

I drove for 2 otr companies. We were free to talk on the phone, so I could do that, as long as it was bluetooth. Only time I did though was for dispatch or for directions from shipper. Pulling on side of the road is dangerous and I would not do it. Id find a rest area or ts, etc.

I dont do tobacco. I think its disgusting so to me who cares.

I was otr so being stuck on road was nothing when I finally went local. Only happened if traffic was bad. Not companys fault.

Um diabetic, dont drink anymore. When I did it was on my 34. Never chanced it.

In regards to 8. I guess I just like tma challenge and working on trucks.

#9, that is just dumb to post bad about your company. I worked in an office setting 10 years. My firmer boss and another girl both got fired for making fun of our quality control person, because they received bad reviews. Company issues stay company issues.

Had alot of the same freedoms when I drove local. Rules dont bother me. Its their company, if you dont like it one is always free to move in. Just my thoughts.

I agree 100% that rules are rules and if you dont like them, move on. Main reason I walked out the first day.

The Drivers are Drivers because they love their freedom. Freedom from being micro managed and from stupidity.

Companies like Cowan want mindless followers that will obey anything they tell them. I desire more
