I'm sorry for both of you all and your less than reputable experiences,I use an M.F.J analizer to preform S.W.R settings on a vehicle,it is a very accurate way of matching your antenna to your vehicle. As as the Hp 40,my belief is that I belive the dead key has been tampered with and adjusted incorrectly as well as the bias adjustments on the radio causing the Mosfets to run hot.(not good for the radio ,will burn it up.)Kevin

Bored...Naw my radio barely gets warm and i dont think my mfj is off by much..I compared it to the meter on my radio,barjan,asatic...I also have my 955 set up so she dont transmit after 1.5 or 1.7 i think..
Im not tossin hd's stud away but im open to try a predator one..Gotta find one in my travels though..
Doin my 1st run across the boarder sence may(2 cancer treatments with no weird side effects,dr says i can go back if i feel ok)ill have to keep my eyes open...Gettin my act together for a novascotia to houston tx run
I know there is a mfj place in houston so ill chk with them to see if they can chk my 259b...

Yeap i know..Good bunch here i must say..
Ridgeline gave me something simple to try that i never woulda thought of..Ill see later if it helps..He did say it might or might not cause every crapcadia he delt with has been different..
