If you don't like your lease, or the freight, or the company, or the pay, or anything else, you might be stuck with them until the lease is up. Hell even the company drivers can quit easyer than a lease on driver.

You are headed down the right path, I just caution you from getting your own authority too fast. Because, sometimes the benefits of having access to large dedicated contracts can be monumental. I have had my own Authority and I have leased trucks to different companies. And I will tell you that getting leased to a good company can in some ways be better than running under your own authority. Now, if you find a good honest broker with dedicated freight it can make having your own authority feel like working for a big company. The key is to do a lot of due diligence and only work with people that will look out for your best interest as well as their own. And if at any point they make you feel the opposite you should be looking at all your options.
Tétkontak and KeithT1967 Thank this. -
If you're bringing your own truck then you're a contracter not an employee. That means 1099 and responsibility for your own taxes.RERM Thanks this.

I think your confused about leasing a truck you own on to a company and leasing a truck from a company. When leasing to a company you can leave whenever you want.Skinny P Thanks this.
