So I searched here (and Google), a few things came up, but nothing I'm sure which is too relevant... And my apologies for the misplacement of this thread, if, indeed, that is the case.

I have an Energizer EN500 (pic), 12v adaptable. Worked fine for 7.5 months then killed 3 fuses in a row. I was attempting to charge my Kindle so I can read (should have stuck to paperback, don't have to charge those) and the thing crapped out. Then, unloaded (power-on, nothing drawing juice) it burnt two more.

When I tear into this thing and get at it's guts, because there's no reset option, externally, what am i looking for? External wiring is unblemished... it's either something inside the machine, or about the truck writing causing an overload.

    Thanks for any info guys.

Does it blow the fuses without anything plugged into it? You can call the manufacture as it might still be covered under a limited warranty.

Does it use a DC plug to provide power to the inverter? If so, the DC Plug could be bad. I have seen them where the +/- strips of metal touched each other due to the plastic failing to separate them. You can always buy another DC plug. I did it all the time for my inverter.
