Fuel compliance score and idling

The "adjustment comes on the front end. My first quarter MPG (for my truck) only needs to be 6.8,.second quarter is 7.2, no idea of the rest.

In theory your MPG standard for the quarter is based off your truck, your LOB, and your 'running area' average weather.

The training group and OSRs haven't been in the field for a while and often have inaccurate thoughts on pertinent issues.

 

I meant if you go inside to get bills, etc, shut the truck down.

If you are in the truck, idle. I know i will be.

 

If you go to the scorecard in the performance monitoring tab in Crossroads it's listed. If you go to costs you can see each quarter.

 

They have mine at 8.55.. Not happening. If you want your bonus ask for new truck. Parksmart get killed on mpg requirements

 

I gave up on the bonus criteria. Last quarter I had 106 something. Today I have 93.8 and it's all mpg compliance. And im in a AMT now. Everything else is perfect. Sorry but a healthy and proper night's rest is far more more important to me than a mediocre bonus. Im a poor sleeper to begin with. I dont have ParkSmart. I am reasonable with the idling though. I usually sweat it out at customers and always kill the engine in the middle of the night. I treat this truck like I own it and am paying for fuel but 98% of the time I take my break from 1600 to 0200 and its just too hot at that time. Some idling needs to be done.

 

I wonder how they thought 20-70 F is a reasonable no idling zone? Have the corporate bean counters ever lived one day out of a vehicle? I have slept in a truck when it was 25F ambient (engine off) and it was not fun even with two thick blankets. You would need a sub zero sleeping bag to pull it off comfortably. Likewise when it's 80F it's fine. That no idle zone needs to be adjusted to 35-80F in my opinion.

 

Well, all the trucks have bunk heaters for when it's cold. 40 degrees? Crank on the bunk heater, it will roast you out.

 

That is one of the reasons I stay out of the industry. No one is going to tell me or my co driver we are not going to maintain a habitable environment of around 72 degrees inside that cab. It;s not just a work place but is also a home as well.

I fully support any company that installs a generator or APU machine to help people cool and heat the tractor cab and sleeper inside without running the main engine up front. I know you can burn a couple gallons overnight on the smaller engine than god knows how many gallons running the Kitty or Detroit.

The bonus money is wonderful, Ive had programs in working for companies that paid bonus for idle percentage etc. But at the same time if they did not pay because I idled, that is ok. The money is not enough or rather small enough in pay out (About 60 a week it was) that it is not a big deal. If I run the cab to be comfy and they want the 60 dollar bonus in them days they kept it. No problem.
