    What's in your wallet?

I just received my new Ally Bank cash back Visa. %2 on gas and groceries and %1 in all other purchases. Not so great until you factor in the %10 bonus if you deposit your cash back into an ally account. This one has a $100 bonus if you spend $500 in the first three billing cycles also.

Why? You should already have an oh #### fund.

I use mine to pay most of my bills and everyday purchases as well. The cash back adds up quick and it doesn't cost a cent assuming you have the financial discipline to use credit responsibly.

The one that is going to give you the most of what you want. Do you want hotel stays, airline miles, cash? Then how do you earn what you want, who is going to give you the most points for your most frequent type of buying, like restaurants or fuel. I think it is an individual thing because we all want something different and will get there in different ways.

I recommend Clark Howard or Dave Ramsey's website for the lowdown on cards best suited to what you need.

How is bill paying really hard to keep on time when on the road? It's not!!! Never heard of online bill pay?

And credit cards can be a good thing for building credit and some of them come with decent perks as far as airline miles etc etc provided you are good with managing your money. Spend what you can afford and pay the card balance off every month or leave very little of a balance.

I allow the autodrafts from bank. But always follow the Crown Money Map situation which says you begin by building three months bill money, then 6 months bill money then 9 months and so on until you have one year saved up worth of bill money.

That way you can be gone a year and not worry about your autodrafted bills. Just check em off as they flow out of your bill paying account.

There is usually another account for the moneys over and beyond bill paying.

We did alot of banking online and discovered that there is a 600 dollar limit to moneys you can move and that's tough when your monthly income is 3000 and the bills need 2000 of that to pay on everything. So what we did was take the 3000, transfer to 5 accounts and then paid the 2000 in bills from 4 accounts in a few minutes.

Easy to bypass the banking daily limit this way.

Fast forward to today, I don't drive anymore but I have tried to fill the vehicle when half tank, purchase non perishable food for the closet ready to go should there be a storm or society problem that closes a store (Recently there was a SNAP issue causing two Louisana Walmarts to be ransacked and essentially destroyed the store that required them both to be stripped of all meats etc and restocked from warehouses before they could open again.) and try to put aside money against rent and billing so that I can pay say the water bill 600 dollars and not worry about it for the year. It's paid.

Not everyone can do this Even if you were three months ahead on your bills due every month you have a freedom to do some trucking without stressing too much about bills being paid on time.

One day some weeks after Spouse finished Trucking School we were due to have the 1350 remaining tuition paid for by FFE so that her training is paid for as part of one of the benefits offered by FFE.

We totally called the truck school to double check on that to make sure FFE did pay this bill. As it turned out FFE did not and Truck school was moving to put us into Collections for this money. We pulled the card out and paid the school on the spot. Got the information faxed to us at the truckstop and then turned over to the DM in FFE to get paid as part of her employment benefits.

To their credit they paid. But not very timely. We have wondered about that sometimes because Trucking Companies burn so much money every day and when a large expense comes up.. they hem and haw kicking the can down the road sometimes. We hate that.

Saying 'I don't carry cash' is easy deterrent to windshield washing, sob-story, lizard lot bums.
And i don't. I've got $5 to do laundry at any given time. Beyond that, it's plastic. New school! Haha.

I can still say it, but still have cash. When the banks crash you all will be sorry. Trust me.
