Remember. most people that make comments on the forums are people that have nothing but bad to say. I am a instructor for roadmaster in Bethlehem PA. We have a great group of people working there. We try to make things as relaxed and as fun as we can. You will get complete training so when you get out on the road you will know what you are doing and wont embarrass yourself. But you have to remember It not the school that gets you your class A. It's you that gets it. We get a lot of people that come there and BUST THERE ### to make sure they succeed. But them we get people come there with a bad attitude, are lazy and spend more time on there cell phones then they do on training. then they get pissed of because they fail. I read other post say they are over price. But look at what they offer. financing, hotel stay, transportation, class room time, maneuver time, road time, in house road testing and job placement. It up to you what you wont. Remember, no matter what it is. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Big Swig Thanks this.

I heard that they're going thru couple changes recent. Werner enterprises now owns roadmaster. Never heard anything horrible about the school. Filter complaints carefully. Most of time it's a student that was having a hard time getting the concept and don't take responsibility for themselves and start looking for other excuses on why they didn't pass ot was dropped from the program. Good luck and wish you the best.

I just read your post after I wrote mine. Im also a instructor at a school in Ga. You can almost tell which student it's going to be as soon as you meet them. Had a student yesterday go to home depot to buy a measuring wheel just to measure our course and compare it to DDS course. While he was doing this he was suppose to be in the truck practicing maneuvers cause he failed at state. It's amazing... he's still trying to figure out why ? Petes sake parallel isn't hard it you just follow the steps and listen to instructions. You take it easy. Good luck.

100% correct, most of the time when a student does miserably in class its their own fault. This rule applies to schooling across the board typically, not just truck driving schools.
I saw it in my class, there were those of us that took it seriously and listened to everything we were told. We passed our test and went on to drive a truck and make money.
Then there were those that were there just to extend their unemployment while the state paid their ride.
They did horribly because it was just obvious they didnt really care. -
Here in Oklahoma the local Cherokee Tribe offers grants for the Roadmasters school here in town, as long as you are on unemployment. Also some places have local organizations that will give grant money for training. Can't hurt to check, all they can do is say no.

In the past week and two days Road master Tulsa has sent 25 students to test at DPS for there license. Only 2 has passed. That calculates out to a 97% FAIL rate. The instructors blame it on the students. I have the pictures of all the instructors sitting/standing under a canopy for 4 hours while students were out trying to teach themselves in the trucks. You ask for help the lead pad instructor rolls his eyes and belittles you in front of whomever is there. I went in ex...cited to learn and all they accomplishes was to make me feel like the biggest loser in the world.
The best school for truck driver training is here in Oklahoma and they charge about $3000 less - and their PASS rate is 95%. It is a State endorsed and funded school called Central Tech in Drumright. Compare the course, where you train, what all you will get and you will find it is a much better choice than Roadmaster. Several schools across the country are State funded, certified and endorsed - those are who you want to look to!! Roadmaster is FOR PROFIT ONLY. They make $7000 on each person they shove in and out of the doors - they DO NOT care if you pass or fail - they do care if they get you in and immediately out. Have a concern - they don't return calls or respond to emails - Don't walk RUN from Roadmaster - be smart look for someplace that cares ABOUT YOU - NOT YOUR MONEY!

I got a grant and went to Roadmaster, it is the biggest ripoff in Tulsa! 97% FAIL RATE!! They want the money but they are a FOR PROFIT ONLY school and will bring you in and push you out just as quick so they can collect $7000.... Central Tech in Drumright - about $3000 less, they are State endorsed and are certified - Roadmaster is not - Run.... Run FAST from Roadmaster - look for state funded/state endorsed vo-tech schools like central tech... You will be much happier.

I finished and graduated with no problems. The problems I saw were people sitting in the shade instead of watching others back when it wasn't their turn and not learning from others peoples mistakes or successes.
I guess sitting in the shade was more important than graduating. Just because it's not your turn to back doesn't mean you won't learn something by watching other people make mistakes and what they had to do to correct it. But hey, who wants a sunburn just to get a CDL.MarkH129, BlackThought and Oledevildog Thank this.
