Just starting out

Well guys and ladies i'm almost all packed and ready to go . Tomorrow I'm leaving Kansas City for my three week training for trams am wish me luck hopefully everything works out fine.

Sooo, I talked to Nick. He's a bit upset b/c they didn't tell him the truth about anything until he was already there. Like he has to work there for at least 3 months, or he repays them everything they spent to send him out to Missouri and to keep him there. And the one we don't like is he would have to work 7 days a week. He has to schedule his days off at least 8 days in advance, but there is no guarantee he will get that day, no matter how long he's been with the company or any day for that matter. His trainer told him they will run you 7 days a week for 3 to 4 months on end, with out granting you a day home with the family. There is not even a guarantee he will get to come home after training. He could very well be out there for an extra 3 months before getting the chance to even come home. I had a bad feeling that something like this would happen to him once he got out there. They tell you nothing over the phone to get you out there, and then something like this happens once he's out there and can't get home. My personal opinion would be, there is nothing he can do until he hits his 3 month mark. I just don't know how we are all going to handle him being gone for months on end with out being able to come home. I guess he didn't know this until he got with his trainer and was talking to him about it. He (the trainer that is) said the recruiters lie to you all the way up until you get with your trainer. Nick was even upset to me over the phone b/c he don't know when he's going to get to come home. I don't know what in the world to tell him.

 

Well when he got there, they told him that he would be out for 3 to 6 months at a time, not weeks, with no home time . They also told him he could request home time, but chances are that with him being so new in the trucking field not to expect it. He wouldn't mind being out 7 to 10 days at a time, like they told him before he left for training. He was expecting to be out 10 days at a time not 3 months to 6 months at a time.
