Wow Starting pay at Prime just got raised to 46cpm for newbies.

 

Will Prime get me home every weekend, and once during the week? And let me be company driver? Prob not lol. Money don't mean crap to me if I can't see my wife and son.

 

Put your location on your profile so we know the hiring area you live in. Some companies have weekends home and if your in the right area can be home almost every day; yes, even for a new cdl grad.

 

I'm happy at Watkins, not looking to go anywhere for now. I make really good money, run pretty much the same area every week, and have the hometime I want. I don't have to run a lot of miles to make good money here. I make my money on stops. I'm happy. If something changes I'll be sure and ask on here first for the best place to go. But if it does, I'm prob going to be looking at LTL home everynight jobs.

 

Depends on where you live. They have some local abs regional accounts that will have you home every day and off on weekends. As @Chinatown said, it's all about location.

Besides, my post was with regards to a driver stating what the cpm caps are and the starting wages at Scnieder. I was just surprised how low they were and that it was based off of home terminal.

My truck doesn't go to their shops since it's a Penske lease but I do know a driver that had a PM last week. Just done the PM. Even put em in a hotel while they done it since they were on their 10 and gave them free dinner and free breakfast in the cafe. Didn't turn the truck down.
In the meeting they had at our terminal a while back they said they would not be messing with the trucks.

 

Our shop in columbus just had 60 Penske lease trucks added to their service line from watkins.
