Wiley Sanders Trucking might hire you.
TransAm might hire you.
If Castille uses DAC, there's trouble ahead.
Maybe @Wooly Rhino has some ideas.Last edited: Aug 3, 2016

8 days is a long time to strand a driver. OP should not have burned the bridge but the company could have managed it better as well.
I had a DPF issue in my truck a few weeks ago. I was on my way to load and got the red stop engine light. I limped it to an international dealership who told me they couldn't look at it for 4 days. The company towed me a spare tractor 150 miles and towed mine back to the Axis Al terminal where the spare came from. I picked up the load a few hours late.
The next day I was headed back and the loaner truck broke down about half way back in Montgomery. TA couldnt fix it. Dealership didn't open until Monday and this was Saturday. I sat in a company paid hotel until Monday when that dealership said they couldn't look at it for a week. Tuesday another driver bobtailed down to pick me up and we team drove the load back.
I had vacation planned and was off the next week. They had another driver ride with a guy to pick my truck up from Axis/Mobile after the repair so it would be there when I got back. It broke down again so they towed it 300+ miles back to our shop. After vacation I ran one load in a spare truck from our yard then moved back into mine. -
I couldn't have said it any better......x1Heavy Thanks this.

Find you a small company that takes care of their equipment and move on. Don't look back! This industry needs drivers so bad right now getting a job is as easy as making a phone call. At least you were nice enough to leave it at a dealership and let them know you were leaving. Good luck and be safe!

Once you have your first brkdown in such a short time it will never get better with that company.Believe me I know.I undestand your anger but you should not have left the way you did.If this company does not use DAC services they will now just to put bad marks on your DAC.But your trk was in a secured location when you decided to fly home so that might work in your favor.Far as not getting paid, why would you, company is going to spend alot of money to get your trk.Next company I would suggest making sure they have top notch equipment or be prepared for many brk downs.x1Heavy Thanks this.

I can't speak for every company but Hirschbach had a policy that they would only pay for two days of breakdown pay and then they would get you a rental truck for you to get back on the road to make some money. We do not have all the information we need to jump down the guys throat. 8 days in a motel is too long to ask anyone to stay. The company bears some responsibility for not getting the man a different truck and getting him the hel l out of that situation.
Because the company abandon the driver, I would file a lawsuit in small claims court to get my money back for the flight. I would make sure I got a judgement that prevented the company from damaging my DAC. Employment is a two way street. Companies only do to drivers what they can get away with. Sue them. Sue anyone that messes with you and maybe someday, you can run for President.Dave_in_AZ, AModelCat and x1Heavy Thank this. -
Gotta love the maxxforce...

At least it's training the dispatchers and terminal managers to git her done when we do break down.

I'm surprised they haven't put you in a Pete or Mack yet, I'm seeing fewer and fewer at the terminals. I know Auburn sold nearly all of them, except for that one guy that refuses to give his up.
x1Heavy Thanks this.
