Total Miles: 3900LD/800MT
Weekly Average: 2,300
But been getting a few unofficial visits at home via drive by... So that's impacting total miles. Oh, and I was on the yard for a day too when they checked my truck for exhaust leaks. So that impacted it too. Of course next pay I will have yesterday and today that will shorten total miles too.
Not unhappy with it at all.
Reality of trucking at times.
And the importance of staying out with wheels rolling too. Makes a big difference.

Trainer's Volvo had inverter issues he didn't bother trying to get it fixed. Pretty sure I have read elsewhere on this forum that the volvo installed inverters leave much to be desired and at least one has been blamed for torching a truck.

I'm not going to mention any names, but a certain driver, with 38 years under his belt, not having scratched, bumped or dented any equipment in that time, and who trains here, called into night dispatch about 3 years ago, and told them it was next to impossible to back this trailer in with all the crap in the way, he told me to figure it out and hung up on me. I did indeed figure it out, I brought the trailer to the yard, stopped at the gaurd shack, walked inside and told him I got it all figured out, after 38 years of this and listening to people not in the know, I have always listened to myself, and if I can't do it, someone else can. I dropped the trailer in the yard and watched a local driver hook to it and leave. I figure after all these years, I can "figure it out" and I did.

Well, the four shocks turned into much more... Just checked and looking at another 2-3 hours... Hope it's fixed and fixed right so I need not return. But glad to get stuff done before it fails on the road.

Welp, wondered over to the Richmond yard about 1:00 to check on my rescued truck. Shop says good to go. Took it over the body shop to document all the existing damage. Met and talked with Alan to discus future communication preferences
... and got a load for the morning to GA. I'll look at the details later today.
Loaded everything that was in my car in the truck. Parked the car in the OTR parking lot. Drove the truck back to the La Quinta here and I'm about to head out for a little test drive to see how she's feeling after the doctor visit. We'll see. Figure I'll spend my last HT night in a bed that doesn't move and roll out early in the AM.
KD5AXG, Lonesome, 4mer trucker and 2 others Thank this. -
