I think my lowest net pay at McElroy was around $650. Average bring home was closer to $875. That's single with no dependents. And after gold level insurance deductions.

Was it hard to gross 1200-1300 weekly and still he home on friday? They want me to come to orientation, but training pay seems weak at 500.after taxes you won't bring home 400???
-
With Mcelroy you won't see the average 2400-2600 miles per week neeenjded to gross 1200-1300 at .50 per mile.
Mcelroy is a good company that does what they say they will. There will be weeks that you have 1500 gross paychecks and will be weeks you have 800 gross paychecks but i imagine you'd be closer to 50k per year.
You will be home every Friday-Sunday. Rarely Mcelroy didn't get me home, but they will pay you and extra 150.00 if they can't.
You may get home at lunchtime friday or perhaps 6pm, but you are home. You will leave out on Sunday most times early enough that you can reach your destination ( to deliver or pickup) and get a 10hr break in before unloaded to start Monday fresh.
I enjoyed my time at McElroy. The only reason I left was to become Owner Operatorelroy33 Thanks this. -
Like said above. You will be home Friday at some point during the day. Yes it kind of sucks only bringing home $400 a week but if you can make it thru it you'll be golden. I think I around $392 a week during training but then my first real paycheck was closer to $900 net. No you won't get 2200 miles a week but the short haul pays and minimums will More than make up for that. Honest average miles will be closer to 1800 I would say. Although there was one week I only rolled about 670 miles. Paycheck that week was stil $710 net.elroy33 Thanks this.

training week paychecks are going to suck, but that is short term.......McElroy is a great company long term....
CruisingAlong Thanks this. -
Are you working for them now? Elaborate on the company please.
-
Elroy are you looking to go OTR or local with them? I drove locally for them for 2 years. Just recently left though.
-
OTR, looking at home on weekends.
-
They will have you home every weekend for your 34. The OTR guys have to leave out with enough time to get their 10hr break in before their Monday morning appointment time. That way as soon as your empty Monday morning you are able to roll back out.
-
So your Sunday could be cut short if you have to leave at dinner time to head to your drop? Or do they try to get you somewhere close ? I see thier trucks unloading at a few spots 30-45 minutes away from my house.
