That's about right for back then. My buddy went there not too long ago and said it's still the same. He was a storekeeper seaman (SKSN) on a supply ship and spent lots of time there during the waning days of the Vietnam War. He went there to meet a woman he met on blossoms.com website and stayed on the beach in a condo with her and her two teen daughters. He said it was wild because all of them stayed naked for two weeks. He didn't mess with the girls or even try to even though they were legal age. In fact they both had a young child from previous boyfriends. That's just the way they live over there so to them it doesn't resonate the same as if they were in USA.

Makes it interesting! I've learned a lot on here from derailed posts.

I was doing $1750-1850 a week after taxes as a local driver. But I'll say right now it was a beating. I'm doing about $13-1400 a week now. A lot less stressful and no more graveyard shift hours.

Right. I should have said most linehaul jobs pay more than that. Occasionally you'll hear a driver with a bad bid complaining about "poverty wages" referring to that kind of money. Not everybody has the same definition of "starving"!

Could you name the ones you know off the top of your head?

Thanks for the link, can't find the startng pay for the different locations anywhere.
After taxes, that's sweet. Where do you work? This is exactly what I'm looking for.

MBI starts the drivers out at a percentage of the rate and the rate varies by location.
My buddy gets paid 27% working night shift and he would be making 25% working day shift.
I'm assuming someone without experience would be offered a lower percentage.
The cool thing is you can buy a house right up the street from this place and walk to work everyday and make 1800 to 2500 bucks a week

    USPS

It was my original plan to OTR to gain some experience and then apply to USPS. They're Union and start around $30 an hour.

Are you saying you're home everyday and making this kind of money? Which location can you make the $2500 a week?
