Chinatown is the TTR career councilor. His advise is good, he's stays abreast of all trucking companies.

    What is the kitties name?

Piece of Advice. Before listening to anyone on the phone trying to Schmooz you into a job. Research on here a couple companies on here. Find out the ones that peak your interest. Then grab a couple washingtons and head to the local truck stop. You would be shocked how much information you can gather from a simple coffee/dinner paid for. I hung out around the diner and when I saw a company I was interested in I would approach the driver, introduce my self and tell them I'm interested in the business and would like to ask them some questions. Offer to pay for their dinner or coffee and ask the questions. A LOT MORE informative then someone who's job is to paid to get you to come to their company.

Those companies I listed hire in WA & OR which means you wouldn't have to change jobs when you move. You will have to switch your CDL to your new domicile state though.
You can change jobs if you want and a couple of companies that hire in those states are Brown Line and Interstate Distributor. Not much on here about Brown Line, but that company seems to be real good.
Keep a little notebook with companies you're interested in or may be interested in for the future; this way you won't have to start over researching if you decide to make a change. That's what I did my whole career and it really paid off. I called it my "backup plan."

Oh, I lurked long enough before posting to figure out that Chinatown is a walking encyclopedia of trucking companies. :)

The kitty's name is Zorro. Incidentally, my parents are taking him to IL today to move in with my sister and his brother (both cats have been unhappy since they were separated eight months ago). I'll miss the little curmudgeon, but it'll be good to have no pets to wrangle when I start working. I might look into getting a kitten or young cat in a few years and raise it to enjoy/tolerate the road.

    Hello all
Been driving for 22 years. Been there done that, got the t-shirts to prove it. Have hauled everything from dry vans, refrigerated, flatbed, drop deck, Rgn, Oversize, and Bull racks. I have done lease purchase, company driver, and O/O since 2002. Now haul my own product, with my own trucks as i have a large cow/calf operation. Seen it all in the 22 years. 1.5 million miles, accident free, and only minor infractional tickets (overweight, over hours)
