Am thinking of getting on with ups as a team driver. My question is how do you pick your partner, eg..non smoker, someone who bathes daily, keeps a clean truck..etc. thanks

My guess is at least starting out, UPS will be doing the picking. Maybe after you get some seniority you might have a better chance of teaming with someone you want to.

Ok IF, you are talking UPS Freight (i'm with Freight) then from my understanding if a driver has enough seniority to pick a run, then that driver ALSO picks the teammate.

i can confirm this on monday.

Russian Rabbit, Are you Team or Solo? Maybe Solo would be the way to go.

Premade teams are highly desirable in the LTL world!

I think you are excepting way to much! Most truckers I see now days would not qualify!

People said we were crazy to apply and we got hired at a top tier company right out of school!

When we were at Cdl school, the director asked me... "Do you know that's a $100k a year job?"

I did know... I also knew what I wanted.

Don't get caught up in a bottom feeder company that is going to wreck your good name and driving record. Reach for what you want! Best of luck to you...

Are you talking about small package or freight? Cos i'm with freight. If you run the road the money is good either solo or team. Your work week may be shorter with team though.

    futurenow and Jboy2009 Thank this.
