Welcome to trucking, its you, your miles and you fighting the clock, this is normal and happens a lot, but an Hour is usually a safe enough time to start looking, again all depending on the circumstances

In the 4 years I have been on elogs I have been less than 5 minutes left may 20 times, under 10 another 50 or so. I have never had a violation.

I don't roll until my entire trip is planned. I will make adjustments as necessary, but I know how far I am going and where I will he stopping every night before I start. If I have to cut it short or I can go a little further because I made better time than expected, I make the adjustment.

I left Santa Nella CA this morning, parked now in Wendover, NV, 645 miles. Tomorrow I will be in Sidney NE, 661 miles, Monday I will be in Walcott IA 680 miles, Tuesday I will be in Brant NY, 672 miles, then deliver Wed am 37 miles away.

Nothing to sweat this way. I know where I will be, and around when I will be there.

Last week I had a day I pushed it to 10:57

What do you mean you "never had a violation"? I see an 11 hour violation already. But whatever.

No you don't, that spanned a 10 hr break. I log Pacific time and was in the east. My day doesn't reset until 3 am if I am out there.

No, the rules are the same... Compliance is another issue though.

There are mi or differences such as Paper being in 15 min increments and elogs to the minute, and in town on duty, vs driving for LTL has gone away with the elogs, but essentially the rules are the same.

Yep I have had my drive line show 12 or 13 depends on when you start, and trip planning is always essential. Some people Run wide open, with a thirty four hour shutdown and others do 8.75 a day so they can run on their recap

Thanks for clearing that up. 1 minute vs 15 minutes.
