Why 10, why not 5 or 3 hours?

    What is the logic behind driving 10, resting 10 hours?
    Last few weeks me and my codriver were driving 3 on 3 hours. I can tell you, we are much more productive and alert!

    Because 14 hours on duty and 10 hours on break adds up to 24 hours on the paper log graph.

    No, realy, what is the normal human logic putting 10 instead of 8, 5 , 3 hours of driving? Dot wants us to be safe. But you are on the endge after 8 hours driving...where is the logic to make us to drive sleepy?

    But it's actually 11:45/14... 11 hrs driving, 30 min break, and 15 min pretrip.

    But that's assuming you have parking at the end of your shift. And what if he has to make a right turn at the end of his break? How's he do that????

    The OP only wants us to drive 3 hours, take a 10, drive 3 more and another 10. At that rate it'll take two days to cross PA.
