As long as they have trucks available and you don't have the usual disqualifying issues like drug, criminal or bad driving history I would say your chances are very good.
-
The policy is one day off for every 6 days out. You can have a max of 7 days off. Any more and you will have to clean out truck.
I don't take hometime so can't really comment on how the florida setup is. I intend to leave truck at Richmond and make my own way back home if I need to be there as I don't have anywhere to park the truck there.
I average about 3000 miles per week but then as mentioned I don't go home so have many more days on the road running than others who do.
No contract to sign for refresher or training programs.Jayback2trucking, MidWest_MacDaddy and chralb Thank this. -
They hire students straight out of school for the training program. Before coming here my only experience driving a tractor trailer on public roads was during cdl school.Trucker E Thanks this.

The miles still add up despite all the wasted time we see ticking away. That's why I decided not to chase them anymore.
If that means I never hit 7k in a pay period then oh well. The trade off is that I will enjoy my time here more.MidWest_MacDaddy, Finfn1372 and chralb Thank this. -
Sometimes I'm tempted to go to Prime to pull tanker. I did see an AMX tanker trailer in the yard the other day though.KD5AXG Thanks this.
-
I have the tanker endorsement. I'd have no issue pulling a tanker. I've driven tankers in the VFD.
-
I delivered home heating oil in a straight truck for one season.KD5AXG Thanks this.

Last week had 3 different drops or picks in nyc, should help the slow miles. Almost 1900, but didnt leave till monday morning and was home friday afternoon.
Got to briefly meet @MidWest_MacDaddy while he was goofing off at the yard. Spent friday night and saturday night at home. Left sunday morning headed to shelton connecticut. Delivered and now just sitting at the walmart literally a stones throw away waiting for something to do then ill start my clock. -
Note to Self:
Do not touch HP loads
Do not assist customer unless told to
Do not submit labor at $100/hour... LOL
Now, back to work on getting paid detention for that Damnn load of corn and the driver referrals that I have yet to see.
Miles here flow pretty smoothly... Nothing else.
