Looks like I will be starting with Drivers Solution in Springfield, MO. on Monday and will be going with Decker when I am finished.
Just curious to see peoples experience with them.
I live in the St. Louis area and know that Decker has a hub around here someplace (not sure where yet).
Thanks in advance for any and all comments bot good and bad.

Nobody has any information on Decker?????

You should get more miles with Decker than you would with PAM. If anything, you being sent to Decker is a good thing.

I drive for Decker, not sure what your looking for, but the info on their site is pretty accurate. Home evry 2 weeks but you can stay out longer, your choice. I kinda see us as the PAM east coast division. You will go to Texas but not much farther west, get comfortable driving in congested areas, alot of Jersey area runs. I get to my shippers early and try to deliver early this helps out in case of unforseen circumstances, accidents and stuff that block the highway. Also if it is a problem free run, you make yourself available to another run sooner which means more miles. The weeks you go home miles will be light but i usually get 2500 -3000 in a solid 7 days of driving.

I'm a recent grad that went on to Decker. Have'nt been dispatched yet(going on three weeks). Everything has been pretty positive so far except I've realised that I'm not a person and just a number. Which is cool I'm not in need of friends I need miles. Is it normal to take this long for initial pick up from trainer?

Leaving for Decker this sunday. I guess they could'nt get a trainer dispatched my way so they sent me a bus ticket. I'll lat you guys know how it goes.

Decker is alot like pay has a cpl of pluses I think, They get detention after 3 hrs, at least the older drivers that I have talked to do, also they have some owner ops leased on as trainers real professional guys, bad side is they spend most their time in northeast. Overall they a good company from what I have heard

I just finished with my trainer. He was real cool. I respected him and he respected me. No problems. I'm back home til the begining of the new year. I heard there's no trucks right now.

pam stopped taking folks until maybe end of 1st quarter 09 "don't know this for sure" just got the impression from speaking with driver agent. said i can go with allen freight or decker, my choice. does anyone know which is best for time out and getting miles. (also be aware they are reducing grad bonuses to 100.00 upon grad. and cents per mile are reduced by one cent for both. if the first wasn't bad enough). was going with roehl, but don't have the start up funds. thanks

Decker is not sending anybody out on the road or to training any time soon. The entire trucking industry is in bad shape.
