i have a 10 meter modded to 11. and honestly i liked my cobra 29 better, even though it's half the power output. i have factory coax and cant go any higher or longer than 4ft fiberglass antenna. So when the 29 died last month and i put the General lee back in, it's about the same. i don't know if i'm being heard any farther and receiving is about the same. If i buy another radio it'd be another 29

Functions the same but a license is required to use the 10 meter radio unless you decide to break the law like most truck driver. -

It depends on the frequencies covered by the radio some 10 meter radios can be modified to cb frequencies. Having a general class license gives you NO added privileges on 11 meters than the average unlicensed cb operator. LEGALLY you can only operate FCC type accepted radios designed for cb frequencies 4 watts am 12 watts SSB on the 40 AM SSB CB channels. Too many times I have heard people claim their amateur license gives them the right to use highly modified radios or amps on the CB band. They are lying either on purpose or by ignorance. Amateur license PRIVILEGES apply only to the AMATEUR bands as designated by the FCC. Regardless whether you hold a novice class, extra or anything in between you are subject to the rules for the cb . If you choose, as many do, to operate a amp or a 10 meter radio on the CB band you are just as illegal as the unlicensed operator. I realize this post is redundant but you seem to be asking the same question over again so maybe this will answer your question fully.
