Well I have a long needed 34 hrs reset to rest and catch up on my swifty news... Get a pm done too,not seeing so many unhappy with miles lately so maybe that's good news for the majority of you swiftys? hey @MysticHZ @Moosetek13 @blsqueak @scottied67 @A21CAV and the rest of u long term swiftys you all still hanging in there! Yeah I know @blsqueak and @scottied67 arent swiftys anymore but u know what I mean,lol....

Still at Cardinal greatwide and couldn't be happier lately been doing knauf insulation loads (our customer) and see lots of swift trailers there always too. so I know you all are there sometimes, also do a lot of air conditioners out of Waller tx. couldn't ask for better money or an office staff to deal with, our teams pretty small and lean but I more than made the cut when they went to percentage rather than mileage program, put me with the best dispatcher I could ask for.....guess what lead up to that our fleet was losing 40,000 a month so they let 20 of 28 guys go....they didn't lose there jobs or contracts but moved to other fleets more dedicated stuff that suits them and the way they want to run....now we're a lean mean fighting machine doing mostly customer freight light loads from Texas and the southeast to the Midwest and lower east coast ...money's good and the stress is way down lately....just checking in with u all...

There are times at the inspection lane Coors can be real anal about what they might be looking for. One day I was popped for not having a hook on the door. Just a wire. Luckily one of our locals was there and he had some spare hooks. I can remember pulling in a brand new trailer and was refused due to the smell. Brand spanking new. The first load that it was getting

FR8, you getting ready for a trip soon. I was getting ready this October until starting new job and then planned Christmas until saw the prices, and then did search and found one January 7, LAX to MNL, non stop, $702.

Since here thought a little update. Since day one have been butting heads with a couple of the DM/Planners upstairs. Turns out not a one, others than the owners son has ever been in a truck. Have this one planner that has such a attitude he would put the Swift planners to shame. Just yesterday he was trying to tell me how to plan my trip from Walcott to Itasa. Actually told me that I kinda started my clock about 1 hour to early. For you that know, I-88 and all of the construction and I always plan to show up at least 1 hour early. This just flew right over his head. And then today when trying to get home, he starts again with me saying that I can not be home for 1 day, so I tell him (calling his bluff), fine, I will pick up the load in Columbus and bring me to the terminal and we are done. He then say, "You need to have a talk with Tim" (the owner), so I said, fine, would love it. About 5 minutes later, he comes back on the phone and says real quiet like with no attitude, go on home. give me a call when you are ready. Found out that he is used to pushing around the company drivers, and then when actually learned about my experience and going l/P, backed off. Found out today that I have a new 2017 Volvo 780(auto) coming in for me within the next 2 weeks. Payments less than Swift. Not much but less which will help make up for the tolls, but then again, I pay no road/fuel tax. They pay it all. All in All, I just love butting heads with those that not have clue, and luckily I only have to deal with him when home, and found out that a lot of drivers that come to this area and when dealing with him, put there truck in the wind and get out of it.

So I pick up a load of insulation in CA this morning.
    Uneventful.
    The drive thus far, uneventful.
But I'm really low on hours. I had 1 minute left on my 70 after my post trip.
Where we pulled in for the night is a little truck stop on US97 in OR, a KFC right next door.
I go in to get some chicken, because I LOVE KFC Original, and something catches my eye.
It is a movie theater right next to the KFC.

My daughter, Leann, has been SO paranoid that her sisters and friends will all see this movie before she does.
And here it is, the next showing in 1 hour so we have time.

I only told her I had a surprise for her, but I bet she screams when she realizes what she is about to see.

Sometimes I really LOVE being a dad with a daughter on the truck.

FerrissWheel, Ryan423, A21CAV and 3 others Thank this.

    Flying Hook, Nephi,UT.

Got off hometime bounced down to AnaheimCA to pick up some SunnyD, going to Ogden then Syracuse UT and then Denver with some anonymous frozen stuff.

This may be my last month with SwiftRef. Accepted a job offer 2 months ago, and it is finally coming together. I will give more details as things develop.

Middle of Texas, at my girl's place. Trying to get back to my dedicated running area, and Lancaster is determined to send me to Colorado. So, it looks like home time is extended another day. Oh darn. :p

    FerrissWheel Thanks this.

And they are trying to send us down to San Diego for a delivery on the 15th when I have a home time request in for the 15th in Denver. Nope.

I'm at the TA in Troutdale, OR with 1 minute left on my 70. Cutting it a bit close?
When I got to my delivery in WA I saw a sign in the window of the guard shack - No Children Allowed.
So they turned me away because Leann is 14.
After speaking to a couple DM's, and after refusing twice to leave my daughter alone somewhere while I unload, I headed here.
I'll be t-calling it in the morning, because my time was a few minutes short of letting me get to the terminal today.

    scottied67 and FerrissWheel Thank this.
