Any of you (flatbedders) all ever have a person at a facility tell you that you can unloaded in a certain spot and then have someone come over 30 minutes later and tell you that you can't unload there?

was there last week.......exactly right. They said it don't matter that you've already swept your trailer, you have to do it again. Friendly folks though......they'll let you sleep there.

I always hated the places that tried to take my keys...after locking out the air line. I kept an old International key on it's own ring to hand over when needed. No one ever questioned it even though I was in a Freightliner.

Ive had my flatbed get chocked in the middle of a yard, said my brakes are set, even pulled the trailer brake for ya. Rules, all trailers chocked.... trust me, if it goes on a walk about with me standing here, we've got bigger problems...

Check in with Security....Um, back into door 10, Ok. Um, door 10 has a trailer in it. Call Security on the CB, hey this is so-so, you told me to back into door 10, I can't there's already a trailer in there.
Security: No there isn't, you must have the wrong door.
Me: Nope, I can clearly count to 10, the door next on one side say 9, the other side says 11, the one in the middle is 10, there's a trailer in it.
Security: According to my trailer sheet, there is no trailer in door 10
Me: I know you can see these docks from your little shack, pull out your binoculars, the ones hanging on the wall, and take a look
Security: Sir, I don't have time to do that, just back into door 10
Me: Ok (drove over to receiving and checked in)
Me: Security sent me to door 10, there's a trailer in door 10
Receiver: Um, that's supposed to be door 01, door 1...........<shakes head and turns to girl next to her> apparently the idiot is working security today

Picked up a HHG load at a residence with a 40' container. Guy climbs inside and takes measurements, starts cutting lumber to build a platform over the two cars he's loading. Two hours later I clearly hear drilling, like some drilling through steel. Get out of the truck.............customer is drilling screws through 2x4's, into the side of the container. Um, yo, dude, you can't do that. Can't do what, YOU CAN'T DRILL HOLES IN THE SIDE OF THE CONTAINER. Well, how am I going to secure my platform? Don't know, don't care, doesn't matter, you just bought yourself a container. What do you mean I just bought a container? I Start taking pics with my phone of the the dozen screws protruding from the side of the can. Emailed them to my boss, he emails them to the steamship line, steamship line calls broker, broker calls guy, Um, yeah, that container, it's all yours, the steamship line says they will deliver it, but will be charging you $10,000 for it, in addition to all other charges.
