If you live in the Midwest..you could run short runs and make a very good living..

    It seems so.

I made it 14 pages into @freightwipper thread and if one is willing to do A LOT OF short haul stuff, one can accomplish a lot.

It encouraging to read, because all day thone heavy numbers for payment and such were weighing on me.

    ...and Chicago and Milwaukee traffic...

I live in Central Wisconsin, and I picked a town about an hour from my house, and withing a 50 mile radius of that town there were 23 loads all going all over.

So, I may have a little larger deadhead coming and going home...but there is still a lot of freight in my area which is also very encouraging.

Walking that fine line between revenue and home time is an artform...but I think it can be done...

I generally search 100mi radius although I rarely dh that far...just gives more choices...you could easily avg $1.65mi for all miles including dh running the Midwest without flinching..

    I'm Mr. Short load

Don't use what I posted a year ago to judge what things are like now, it's totally different.
There's less loads overall meaning pileing on short profitable loads is a lot more difficult now.

You live in a good area though, you could be home every other day or maybe more around there if u wanted to.

I did the math on that deal and did the calculations for fixed costs and did the calculations on calculations and did calculations for extremely high calculations and calculations on average calculations..........

    AND I'M ALL IN!!!!!

The truth on whether you will be successful has nothing to do with all those calculations but has everything to do with your ability and your attitude.

Orientation Sept 6th which I believe will need to be pushed out as my articles of incorporation were just filed and a few other necessary things need to be put into place.

SFI I would say needs some personnel changes but all in all an above par experience thus far.

Business is business and it's up to you to make sure yours succeeds
