Hello again, I graduated from trucking school in Jan 2016, it took 4 months to get my haz-mat endorsement and then I signed on with Schneider. Now, I have a failure to comply with company policy on my D.A.C. report that I received from Schneider back in May during Tanker Bulk Training (admitting to smoking marijuana within the last 5yrs.). Since then I have applied to multiple companies from a list I got on here from "Chinatown" , I don't mention the reason they released me, instead saying I quit because I did not want to drive bulk hazmat (my D.A.C. says I resigned/quit) but once they contact me they want to have Schneider contact them (with my authorization) to explain details. I'm in Houston, Tx. and just seeking a company to get on with and gain some experience. Any suggestions or advice, not criticism, would be appreciated.
I'm at a loss....

No offense, but your first mistake was admitting that
johnwayne187, ramblingman, Friday and 3 others Thank this. -
I definitely understand that now, thank you.

You have to just keep knocking. Preferably a smaller family owned company where you can go in and talk to the owner.
-
Do t think he's telling the real reason he has a failure to comply on his Dac .That makes no sense why they would ask that .If it had any think to do with tank training why they didn't move you to vans

I wouldn't worry too much about it. Marijuana use is becoming more and more common. Myself never and never will, but I am an old man. Keep applying. If they ask, tell the truth but don't volunteer anything. I am sure there are people working in trucking who have been drunk before and that is no big deal. Your past is your past. Nothing can change it. Tell the new people had you realized at the time it would have affected your job, you never would have tried it. But there was a girl involved so what the hel l.

Well half the problem with all these mega companies and reports is they are not very descriptive of the situation when a driver leaves. The other half is they are dishonest.
It is the situation these companies count on when you sign up to work with them. They can put just about anything they want on a report, written or verbal, and the driver is obligated to prove himself innocent. That can be a tough thing to do.
Despite propaganda that says just the opposite, their is no shortage of drivers. So when some company looks to do some hiring, they will just pass over any prospect that leaves them any sense of doubt.
Look for smaller companies that don't use the DAC or don't care to contact Schneider in any way. That is all you can do. Try avenues like construction, ag., or municipal jobs that could care less who Schneider is. -
Honesty is NEVER a mistake.goldwing-rider, Maurice_1221 and TROOPER to TRUCKER Thank this.

Yes, that is the true reason, Schneider said I could reapply in 5 yrs.

Thank you for saying that, I almost thought it was a thing of the past.Lepton1, TROOPER to TRUCKER and Puppage Thank this.
