I know policy and procedures is a very dull subject. But learn that stuff, because violations of it can have a negative career effect on you!

It would seem that it (the L/P press) was WILDLY overdone. Seven whole minutes to this point. And your Wal-Mart suggestion is well taken.
I have heard there is currently a class action suit against them for their L/P practices. Perhaps they are just laying low right now.
So it would seem.
That is precisely my plan.
@Big Don you are right as always. I have found in life that it's often the dull and boring that should be most closely followed.bamalife123 Thanks this. -
A couple years ago at TransAm the drivers who had completed training would be given a choice. Transam would say we don't have any company trucks available in Rockwall or Olathe. We have only Lease trucks on the yard. We will send you home to wait for a company truck or we can put you up in hotel to wait.
I advise you guys to wait for a truck at the hotel. Have money to go a couple weeks while you wait.Broke Down 69 Thanks this. -
Well i decided to come out there in a couple of weeks. As a new CDL holder i like the fact that training is only a few weeks compared to a few of others. So keep us informed looks like things are going good man i'm interested in what you will have to say a far as training goes. Good luck brother.

8 years ago when I was there, rumor control was talking about something in the works with Garmin. Glad to see that it finally came thru. Curious to see how well it works.
Wondering if they still call you every month or so, and ask if your interested in leasing.
Do learn that manual!! Know it backwards and forwards. Only way to know if their screwing you or not. Training can be spotty, and that manual can truly help you out.I did my 1st comcheck, right out of the book.
Make sure you know how to get into the employee system to check pay. Remember, they are only required to keep a copy of your logs for 6 months. Ask how you can get a download of it. You'll need it for tax purposes.Broke Down 69 Thanks this. -
I thought they only done orientation in Kansas they have me going to Texas anyone else ever have to go to Texas?
Broke Down 69 Thanks this. -
Well, now if they pull that move you get $50 per day while you wait.
I think for a new driver this is as good a place as any to get the experience it takes to open new doors.
It's $350 a week...they pay over the weekend as well while you're just sitting around. And breakfast is really good. I posted the menu earlier.
Your orientation location is determined by your location and available slots in Rockwall or Olathe. You'll do just fine down there and a couple of times you'll be linked by video to Olathe for group meetings. One on the L/P program and a second about Track 2 and 3 of your training.bamalife123 and SHOJim Thank this.
