I can see where using a bypass regulator on something that doesn't use much fuel would be beneficial. You certainly wouldn't want to have the pump overheating due to lack of flow.
That's not a problem on a diesel, where the fuel circulates anyway but would be a big problem on a miserly Honda or similar genset.

Yup those are it. I keep one in my service truck for certain jobs. I've ran it dry a few times and haven't had a failure yet. Of course I'm usually pumping oil rather than fuel so that might make a difference.johndeere4020 and lilillill Thank this.

I believe he did, I'll see if I can find that thread.Hurst Thanks this.

The Holley pumps are good pumps. Thats not in question. My problem with them in this application is excessive noise. They are a very loud pump. Something I enjoyed with a loud aggressively cammed motor,.. hit the toggle switch and you knew they were on. How ever,.. thats not something I want to hear when sleeping.
Walbro make good pumps as well. I have used them in several street/strip applications with my old setup. Currently have one in my wife's car which is making just shy of 600 to the wheels. Very quiet pumps. None of the vibration and noise that the Holleys put out.
Walbro makes some OEM style inline pumps for carb'd applications that are not expensive at all. My main concern would be the volume,.. not really the pressure the pump will put out. Rather send the excess back to the tank like a return style fuel system. Its just an idea I've been toying around with.
No immediate plans to to do anything like this with my Columbia. My next truck,.. I want to take everything I've learned and wanted to do with this truck,.. and apply it with a truck that I've always wanted to have.

Gotta paint the hood first lmao jk .

Gravity feed would probably work just fine for my generator. But being the fuel sump will most likely be lower than where the carb is on the generator,.. a small reliable pump would work much better.

LOL

Har har har,... pfffft
(/Sarcasm)
Even if I hit the power ball tomorrow,.. I would not paint that hood. I'd give this truck away just like it is.
