I don't know, but I just did the things I've practiced every day as a professional driver without asking a million questions and passed with flying colors. I've noticed this thread is getting to the point where drivers are going to be asking if they should brush their teeth with Crest or Colgate the day of the phone interview.

The world has changed. I probably wouldn't have been hired under the current rules and would have earned my 1.7 million safe miles at another company.

You need to have the experience and clean background to get considered for the job. I just will not give very specific details about the interview, pre trip and road test that would give an edge to someone who may not be fit for the job and needs inside information to get hired. I had a long time friend of mine who I supervised during my days at UPS Freight who applied to Walmart two years ago. He wanted me to give him details about the interview, pre trip, and road test to help him pass. I would not do it, especially since I already knew he was weak on doing a proper pre trip to begin with. I did tell him that doing a proper pre trip is very important, so brush up on the proper way of doing one if needed. I even suggested some videos online to explain a thorough vehicle inspection. Of course he did not take my suggestions seriously and he failed badly. He has pretty much hated me since!

I have no problem helping drivers understanding the steps involved in the hiring process. I just will not give anyone the "answers to the final exam". Personally, I would not want the answers as it would take away from the effort involved to get hired here.4mer trucker, Mike2633 and BackIsSore Thank this. -
I believe you did the right thing Tom. You can teach someone how to pass all the hiring criteria, but if they don't know how to be a safe and responsible driver to begin with, you won't be able to help them after that. Though some driver's records maybe clean, there are some that have skirted by in life with dangerous driving practices.

Din't know this forum existed until I was a private fleet driver for a yr if yu gud at what yu do yu will get in guarantee
-
That was definitely the case with my former friend. I did safety rides with him twice a year for several years and his desire to improve in areas he was lacking, such as doing a proper pre trip, never changed. If I had helped him essentially cheat on the interview process here, it would only continue his history of being lazy.
Most others I talk to here online I do not know personally at all, so I have no reason to help them cheat on the interview process. If they have a good background and a commitment to safety, they really do not need help from me or anyone else. I mainly just help drivers here with understanding the process and what the beginning few weeks working here will be like. Any question that amounts to getting inside information to get an edge over other applicants I will not answer. I too want our fleet to remain the best of the best, so I do not wish to help dilute the driver pool here. We do not have a shortage of applicants, so let the best driver win the day and be hired!georgear1084, drozzer69, Emyclark84 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Hi again I just wanted to ask you something. My husband aplied at the dc in Cheyenne since we are hoping to move in Colorado as soon as my daughter gets the OK from her surgeon to move away . Does anyone knows more information for that dc? Is that one of the very competitive ones to get in ? Another thing how is Walmart insurance compare to others . I'm asking this due to my 2 year old will need to use it quite often? Thank you !

You will make the same as a 5/2 5/3 driver you adp just fluctuates more. You will also have one big check and one smaller check vs checks averaging the same size every pay period. Before I had my own truck I preferred the 6/3Rnc899 Thanks this.
