I concur. With the amount of information on these deals thats readily available you would think they would be hard pressed to find anyone willing to sign, but I guess promises of big money and owning a truck are too much to resist.

Sit thru SNI orientation first, then tell us you'd be willing to sit for an additional week......LOL
PoleCrusher Thanks this. -
There are some other issues to understand.
The biggest one once you stop listening to any naysayers is this.....
Back in the day, trucking companies that leased would give the driver ALL the resources they wanted. Some companies had a direct phone number you could call with any business related questions, they had classes you could attend and the like... Most held on the companies property and the like.
The government got involved and said that for the leasee to get the tax benefits they were claiming and to be considered a true separate entity, the leasee and the trucking company had to show a degree of separation.
That is now why you have the "bad" companies leasing through "their" own leasing companies they set up as "not" part of the same company but then those leasing company restrict the leasee from using that truck to run any other company or brokers freight. They offer no support and repo the truck and re-lease these trucks over and over while staying compliant to the rules and regulations the government imposed.
Then you have the "good" trucking outfits that want their ICs to succeed. These companies were opposed to the change imposed by the government and IRS but have spent large sums of money to get around this and continue to help the leasee be successful.
Sure most of these companies that do still offer help charge money for the help but if you weigh the cost of operating these educational entities, the costs don't outweigh the expense in most cases.
Schneider's IC offer is much different and is one of only a handful throughout the industry that allow the IC to choose their own loads, offers support through separate entities or will offer you guidance to obtain the knowledge you seek, and will allow you (with notice and compensation) to pull any freight you want (limitations but not many).
If you want to be successful you will be, if you want to look at leasing as a bigger "paycheck" from the start, probably not so much.
Research is key to this business as too many drivers still hold a sense of entitlement and the "good ol boy" mentality.

I am having a Zen kind of day. I was forced to enter this state of mind. I delivered in East Orange.
While the most recent pages have had some thoughtful posts, the ones that jump out at me are the haters; the insecure ones who just have to spew their vitriol about unnamed losers, failures, fellow drivers.
It's a cowards way of making himself feel like a success. They suck, and therefore you don't. So easy to see through when your having a Zen kind of day.
