Trucking Jobs in 30 seconds
Every month 400 people find a job with the help of TruckersReport.

And the sole reason they have a job is to support drivers. I can only think of one that I like to talk to. The rest rarely get a hi, makes no sense to me why they are in a services -support job and will bite your head off for being nice.
-
That's a good idea. I'll request it next time I'm in or ask one of our drivers who enjoys going to OC's to grab me one. We have like 300 ERG's but no driver resource guides.

Dude..... I'm not sure if I mentioned this above. I ate. Did paperwork. Went back in to shower. I'm grabbing my disk from the desk. 10 ft away. Some guy walks in and she goes out of her way to acknowledge him. (I don't remember the name only making one up for the purpose of the story) "Hey Larry!!! How you doing tonight hun?" She said. I'm thinking in my head, you have got to be kidding me..... wow I don't know. Maybe I look like a douchebag. After all, I was wearing an Adidas shirt and sandals....TokyoJones, scythe08, AM14 and 2 others Thank this.

Lol! I see this all the time. West Memphis and Gary (the two worst imo) have drivers that they roll out the red carpet for. I get the ignore look. Two faced people really turn me off and around here, its better to walk away and never offer help when they are begging.Waggledaddy Thanks this.

It'll come after years of service.

What will?

Being recognized by SNI employees at OC's.

Being treated by name by the driver services folk.
For tracking mileage - I use a notebook to write down my load information (load #, trailer number, pickup/bol #, destination and d/h or live on each end). At the start of each week I write down my starting hub. Once a week I go into crossroads and pull paid miles and put it all in a spreadsheet. Helps track avg/median miles, the effectiveness of short haul pay, and know if you're taking one for the team too often.
The biggest help it's been is showing me when I get more miles. coming out of the house on Sunday vs Monday is an extra 35 miles per day on a 6 day week. The more you look at the big picture the better decisions you make. It's easy for your perspective to be skewed, think you're not making any money and jump to another job where you'll be screwed the same amount, just in a different way. Having all my numbers made it easier to compare jobs when I go looking for greener pastures.91B20H8, cobudbelly and Waggledaddy Thank this.
