Anyone work for UPS?

You so sound like a UPS er. Our benefits got down graded a bit but are still way better than most

 

i would rather go on welfare than work for picture #1. Seriously. Now i do work for pic#2:

1) Um it can be pretty hectic. i think this varies from terminal to terminal though. For instance the southeast doesn't have as much traffic congestion---thus a smoother day.

2) At least 9 hours a day, but lately i've been doing anywhere from 12-14. Again, this may vary from terminal to terminal.
3) i started at $17.40. If you have one or more kids and/or a mortgage and/or one or more car payments and your spouse doesn't work or also has a low paying job then you better think twice about joining UPSF. The pay does go to $27+ after 4 years though.

4) Yes, after 8 or 40.

5) We mostly use a handtruck. We DON'T do stairs. The customer would have to come out and get it.

6) You wait for a tow truck or mechanic, on the clock of course.

7) No, but i think the company does help you get a cdl if you want. Not 100% sure though.

8 Dislikes---too much pressure, too much rushing, the trucks aren't all that great. Likes---a well run, well organized company.

9) We only get weekends off

10) i don't know----if you like LTL then you'll probably do ok.

11) Not exactly sure about all the benefits, but free health and dental at the least.

12) Dealing with customers, counting and verifying freight when picking up/delivering. If linehaul then you don't have to worry about any of that. You're main duty would be staying awake.
