Your family will be fine if you handle the situation correctly. This is your job, you don't have to apologize to them about it. Make sure that they know that you are thinking of them at every moment, and that they can talk to you anytime. Cell phones sure are great. Remember important things about each child, even if you need to keep a notebook in your truck to keep it all straight. Get them a map and have them "follow" you as you work. And send them lots of postcards. A good spouse is very important. Your spouse will be the glue that holds everything together, make sure that you treat her (or him) right.
