It's pretty simple. For different times of the year they give you an idle percentage that they ask you to stay below. Right now it's summer so they asked us to keep our idling under 45%. Every two weeks or so they have our fleet go into the qualcomm settings and find the idle percentage number. Then we send a free form message saying what that number says. If it's higher than 45 percent we just say in the message "I've been idling over the idle percentage because it's been too hot" or something to that effect. If you don't do this you might get charged for idling. The reasoning they give is because they get a huge tax write off for some of their fuel expenses at the end of the year if they can show that the idling was requested by the driver.

I thought it was complicated at first but I understand after having been here for a while.

Thank you for taking the time to answer, I appreciate it. I'm considering several companies and it is somewhat difficult to confirm information at times. Would you recommend May to someone with less than a year of experience?

Personally I would, considering I have less than a year myself. BUT DON'T THINK I'M TRYING TO SELL YOU THE WORLD LIKE THESE RECRUITERS. Not yelling, I just want to be clear. There are several things that I think they ought to change, but I can work around them so it's whatever for me. Not a big enough deal for me to quit or say they're absolutely the worst. But yeah just to be clear, they have their kinks that they need to work out just like everyone else.

Thank you for being honest. You seem like a straight-forward person and in my experience that trait is hard to find in most people. So thanks again for responding. Maybe I'll see you at a May terminal sometime in the future. Take care.

Crete would take u with 6 months
Pay should be around .43-.45 a mile.
I left my crap paying first job at 6 months and went there and had no problems getting miles.

That was a couple years ago tho

I'm leasing from Transam and average $800.00 to $1,000.00 every week. But then I drive around 2800 to 3200 miles a week and don't sit in truck stops for hours at a time.
I expect those that ain't making money can't manage their time and spend way too much time sitting instead of driving.

The list of terminals also includes a yolo, CA yard, a lathrop, CA yard, a South Gate, CA yard, a fontana, CA yard, a white city, or yard, an auburn, Washington yard, and an Irving, Texas yard. A couple of those are drop yards but I don't know which ones. The rest are actual terminals from what I have been told.

I hope the lease works out for you.
How long have you been leasing at Transam?
I was with them as company driver for many years. I would be in tv room in Olathe/Rockwall and oreintation guys would come in. I would tell them, "don't lease". Those guys in oreintation would talk to a lease guy that claimed to be running 5000 miles a week. They would get mad at me for discourage them from leasing.
(Let us know how the lease goes for you.)
