MRI came back clean. Doc is sure it's acid reflux or food poisoning . Either way, she is well and feels fine.

I don't get it. I read these posts that say " I have an awesome job, make good cash and am home all the time...I'm going to L/P for big money! "
The only two reasons I am doing this is A ) I will get a truck of my own.
    B) I live so far away from regular freight lanes, I couldn't get home on a regular basis elsewhere.

I look at the news and shake my head. Maybe George Carlin was right, this country is circling the drain. We had a good run, but it's falling apart. I'm not getting into political discussions on here . I'm just concerned for what my kids will inherit.

Mmm, not sure you're point is clear, but....well.......not sure what you mean....

As an immigrant...sort of, and a Poli Sci major...after 17 years in the continental US...well, the Protestant work ethic that made this country is largely dead....ironically to be found in the Catholic immigrants from Mexico, Poland, Ukraine, Cuba, and the communist heathens from Asia....

    but, hey...it's all generalizations anyway...

I guess I'm confused by a choice to give up what many may see as a "perfect job" for the risks of an LP...but then again, I technically had one and I jumped in , maybe I'm just tired. Too many things going on at once.
All I know , is there was a music festival in Germany call Wacken (pronounce the W as a V) a couple of weeks ago , and there was a set played by Ronnie James Dio .
He died of cancer 6 yrs ago .
They had a hologram of him on stage . Real band playing behind him. When it was dark, he seemed real , when the backlights lit up , he looked like a ghost.
Technology is amazing , and it gave me joy to see a video of one of my favorite singers "live" again .

Methinks those drivers who get all giggly and excited about L/P go gaga about the big numbers they see in ads. They see themselves as drivers making a whole lot more money, not as a small business owner trying to make payroll, save for the eventualities, and pay their taxes on time. Six months or a year into it, they didn't find the goose that lays the golden egg, can't pay the taxes and monthly payments for all the bling they bought, get all cranky and negative when they're presented with a $25K bill for maintenance, turn the truck in, and bail.

The company then gives their truck to another company driver who has to figure out why radio antennae aren't connected...

So, I've been here since yesterday, and have been waiting to get an empty trailer.
This is the disadvantage to dropping loaded trailers. When a customer has72 hrs to unload, there is a line for empty trailers.
