How did this go for you? What I've heard is that the bids have a set maximum amount which vary but too low by some estimates and it might not make sense if you are planning to lease/buy a new vehicle. In some areas the maximum bid amount is $250 per route and it's nearly impossible to pay the driver decent wages (and no benefits at all), pay for your insurance, gas and maintenance. I'm wondering how companies even break even and I think they pay $10 an hour to the driver and have multiple vans/trucks to split certain costs across their fleet.

 

So how did u make out delivering with Amazon. I'm looking into it myself, but with no one to speak to at Amazon it's very difficult.

Start as a delivery driver so you get some contact number and info. Amazon are rigid a-holes to deal with as a vendor, which you'll discover as a driver. Discovering that for yourself firsthand might save you time chasing through their Skinner Box, and your initial investment is low.

 

I applied to anazon flex because it's so closely related to this amazon logistics program, after a few weeks I went in to their onboarding session in hopes that someone there might have some information that would be useful to me but no one knew anything about this logistics program but they took down my information and told me they'd reach out to others they believe might have more knowledge on the subject then get back to me. I did however, learn from a guy who was there for the same reason that the site has issues when you get to the portion where you're required to upload your insurance documents, he said it errors out when ever he made an attempt and he tried it on 8 different computers with different email addresses....I also read online that AMZN_US or AMZN (which is apparently what the service is called) has been getting a bunch of negative feedback from customers, so maybe this is amazons way of slowly backing away from an already messy situation.

 

They and lots of other consumer suppliers are trying to solve a worthy issue, which is uneven customer experience. Doing that with a cat-herd of unaffiliated contractors seems like a potentially bad idea.

However, this generation believes that everything in the world can be controlled via their smartphone. Just like previous generations tried to spackle holes in reality by making pages of new rules to cover them. The rulebooks and regulations get thicker but scheisse still happens.
