2009 is a couple years early for DEF. I think that is a storage box of some sort on the side.
markk Thanks this. -
If it's a SDP Cat series, run far away and don't look back.
gerardo1961 and markk Thank this. -
On the left side? It's a APU.
But still stay away from a 09 CAT.markk Thanks this. -
okay then .. what is SDP ?
also just noticed it only has 430 hp . sounds a bit small to me -
how can I tell a spd series from any other cat 13 ?
is there a good year cat c13 ? -
All cat's pre 2003 are good.
Pre 2007 is okay but not as prefered -
Engine serial number prefix. It'll be the 3 characters that start the last 8 of the engine S/N (eg: C13XXXSPDXXXXX)markk Thanks this.

I've never, EVER seen a Prostar with a Cat motor. I have honestly never seen an International newer than a 9900 with any form of Cat motor. Also somewhat telling is that there is no under-hood picture. I have, however, seen a Maxxforce 13 advertised as a Cat C13. I'd be slightly skeptical and ask for a picture and engine serial number.
double yellow Thanks this. -
I agree, thats a maxforce not a cat.
