Hi guys. We are young couple 21 and 22 years old who want to be together on the road and dreamed about it a lot. Now we got only our CDL class A permits and need to decide where to go for studying. We've got not so much money to pay for school cause in IL it's really expensive. We read a lot of information here and other forums but cause of lot of information and opinions we can't decide where is it better to go. I know that a lot of people asked it before but we really need good advice cause we've got 2 main problems. Our young age and that we got our driver license only 2 months ago. So...maybe somebody can tell us what company will be better to go to study and then to have a job. We don't care about hometime. Everything we need is good contract, miles and of course payment. Know that for young guys without experience it's sound funny but hope somebody can give good advice. Thanks for any information.

I hope you realise that team driving you will not get to much time together. One will drive while the other sleeps. Everyone thinks teaming with spouse is all roses , be aware there are thorns. We have teamed 8 years now. There will be times you will miss each other ( and they are 2 feet away sleeping) other times you will wish you could drive off solo.

The major problem is you've only had a drivers license 2 months. Next you need to find a company that hires 21 yr. old drivers.
Two ways to do this; first attend a trucking company school or since money is tight, attend a private cdl school through the WIA program. Google : WIA Program Illinois. Through the WIA program the state pays for private cdl school.
The WIA program may require pre-hire letters from a couple of companies and that's no problem. If it comes to that, we can give you company names.
We can give you a few trucking company schools that provide cdl training also. Keep in mind, if the school is in another state, once you graduate, you will have to return to Illinois and convert your cdl from whichever state the school was in to a Illinois cdl.
The Illinois DMV loves to fail new cdl grads that attended school in another state. The WIA program will prevent this from happening because the school will be in Illinois. The Illinois DMV will still give you a hard time, so be prepared for that.DRAGON64 and OldCoyote66 Thank this. -
Marriage is a 3 ring ceremony. Engagement ring, wedding ring and suffering.

You both will need original birth certificate and original social security card that's not laminated.
-
Wife also needs certified copy of marriage if she changed her name

I believe there is no "she" involved.

Thanks everybody for the answers. We need to go to school as soon as possible. So we really think about to go for big company like Swift, CRE , etc. We understand that it's not the best choice cause of contract and payment but it's the easiest way to take CDL , job and experience. So maybe somebody can tell in what company school is better. We really don't know what to think about all this companies, many people said just to run away from them. But sometimes you've got no better choice. Hope for your help cause all information that all of you gave to us was really useful. Appreciate it.

Whatever you decide, I believe you need to find a company that will test you in Illinois.. Since IL has the toughest laws in the country for transferring CDL's, and the fact you already got a CLP there.
How bad is IL?.......>>>
"CDL Transfers — Out-of-state CDL Holders (transfers in) who wish to obtain an Illinois CDL must take all applicable CDL knowledge/written testing and the skills/drive testing in a representative vehicle(s)."
