Ridgeland has a point there----there are quite a few shops out here that use a mfj as a back-up..... their primary analyzer is a rig expert

 

hate to tell ya but I got a 1:1 across all 40 channels. I don't think I've ever had anything past a 1:3 on any setup I've ever had. but a lot of antennas might give get you good number and the receive is still nothing to write home about. like I've said before if it doesn't give you a good reading on a field strength meter out in the open its not going to do much hanging off a trk. good positioning of the antenna is always a must...I'm thinking it might not be your mfj that doesn't like you. thinking your trk. might not like you.... lol

mark and Steve at q5 are the only 2 techs out here who will tell you the truth about what wattage your radio really actually does... the rest are just blowing smoke up your butt. with over inflated numbers....
