I dont follow people unless its onsite or a farm type location.

Give me the address and I will meet you there or...... be calling the broker/shipper for a revised rate/con if its a considerable distance away or takes more than 30 mins to travel.

    Thats just me.

Directions from dispatcher the night before:
You'll be meeting the customer at the feed store, call when you are 30 minutes out...............

Call customer, comes and meets me.

    Customer Directions:
Um, yeah, so, you need to have your tandems all the way forward (it's a 40' container, they are fixed and don't move), also as soon as we turn onto the dirt road, we'll stop and help you put your chains on..................Um, it's the middle of June...........yeah, but spring runoff is in full effect, the road gets muddy.

I wish I had pictures from the 24 mile drive to a farm, that involved travel through, hill, dale, swollen creek, mud puddle (yes I had chains on and needed them along with power divider). The swollen creek was used to bypass the wooden bridge with a 20,000 lb rating, swollen creek was 12" deep, but the approach and departure were shallow so I didn't need a run at it, but the customer had his road grader ready to pull me out if needed.

    LOL

Sounds like a load of hay I went after a few yrs back. Farmer said to me,.. "Yeah,.. we have 2 seasons. Frozen and muddy".

Even with me chained up,.. he still had to drag me out.

Drag you to the top then let you go in a controlled slide to the bottom. Fun in logging.

Lol! You guys reminded me of another one. "Just drive it around back of the barn." I get out and have a looksie. I tell them if I go into that swamp you will pay for the tow. I hit that shoot and sunk like a german u-boat. Right up to the running boards. Boy was i some pissed. No damage done though. I was green back then. Still am!

Nope nope nope. Only had to do that one time, delivering to some hole in the wall in Ossining, NY. Met the guy at the train station and followed his pickup. Felt all kinds of wrong and was rather regretting not being armed at that particular moment. Nothing bad came of it, just won't do it again.

All that information including the precise point of unloading needs to be specified at the outset, so I can determine whether I've got suitable equipment for the job. If it scans wrong, I'm going to pass.

Years a ago I had a split load of glass for Secaucus and long island city and the owner was an Asian who insisted I meet him at the Lombardi and follow him to both stops .
The guy tipped me a 100 bucks and fed me like a horse at both stops .

Years ago I had to deliver vinyl siding to Fort Benning?? by Augusta, I map quested it on the laptop and the Qualcomm directions, I thought I knew where I was going, but nope, I kept driving all around the base, I tried calling but it went straight to a full
Mailbox, finally a pickup drove up to me and an angry China man asked if I had his siding, yep, so I followed them, they turned off on a small gravel dirt trail going up in the woods, they knew I had siding so I followed them up to the small lot and containers on the hill.
He was mad I couldn't find the place, it was unmarked and I drove by it several times, I never thought that would be it.
