Ohio worker killed at AK Steel plant

After 2 fatalities it looks like RMB should have their tires repaired by a tire service whose employees know what they are doing . I have worked at AK Steel and they are VERY strict on safety . A couple of days ago I heard a flatbed driver on the CB trying to find a Dollar General to buy a long sleeved shirt because he needed one to get in AK to load . Several years ago one of our employees had a heart attack at Rockport AK . His heart stopped twice and AK employees brought him back twice with an AED . I was a supervisor with an industrial cleaning company and AK required me to have extensive training - CPR , AED , HAZWOPER , confined space rescue , and more .

 

I have to agree with Rick. I have also delivered to AK Steel and their rules are so strict its not even funny. If you dont have proper shoes, safety glasses, hard hat, and long sleeve shirts, you are turned away at the gate.

 

And if they catch you with sleeves rolled up or shirt not tucked in you'll be banned from the plant . I believe shoes have to be metatarsals.
