There are exceptions until 2017 for small fleets and some carb assistance for loans through approved shops. Maybe its time to reconsider a newer truck to haul freight in the nanny state.

All the extensions are good until 2017. Those extensions where for trucks/companies that couldn't get a loan approval(makes me thinks why there in business). Also that companies that had small fleet trucks had to buy a newer compliant truck every year and have all there fleet fully complaint by 2017. The extensions that where filed because of loan denials only gave you until 2017 like I mentioned above and after that you can not run the truck in California nor install the DPF either.

Read this today; From the Alliance for California Business - ACB Press Release: 3-14-16
CARB ADMITS DPFs CAUSE ENGINE DAMAGE
WE TOLD YOU SO: CARB ADMITS THAT THE DIESEL PARTULATE FILTER CAUSES ENGINE DAMAGE

Also, they have information about filing for an exemption, I downloaded the files and posted them here; hopefully they work. It is the position of ACB that installing the Filter is in violation of both CA and FED rules/regulations, therefor you do not have to install them.

What do you think will happen if CARB amends/exempts the DPF ? Do you really think that will happen ? I see an extremely high rate of lawsuits for those who have complied.
On a another note, the DPF aftermarket like mine has work flawless. The ones that are having issues "MAY" be the one like CARB describes that those individuals dont maintain the trucks properly. I myself maintain my truck and service the filter as the vendors requires it. Also I would recommend to have the right gauges to keep the EGT's proper along watching the back pressure etc....thru the gauges. These filters do create HEAT to burn the soot.

Was talkn to a fella outta Ca with an old fld outside of seattle at a shipper. He financed a dpf system for 15000. Told me hes replaced his turbo twice in 60,000 miles. Never considered the dpf install causing the problem til i easily suggested. But ya know its an fld. Its made him money in the 11 years hes owned it. He was proud of his truck and i would be to if i was him.
