You might look into Dot transportation. I have an uncle who started for them at the beginning of the summer because they offered good home time and good money. He is home every weekend and run mostly Midwest states.

Freemont Contract Carriers has "Southern Plains Regional" which would be excellent for where OP lives.

You give up so easy. You know if you take the easy way you'll never get ahead. Just remember when you're staring out the windshield that the more you put into this business the more you'll get out.

There are two or three good ideas for you already posted. Of course I have to throw in the idea of the mail contractors. There are two processing centers there. PDC on the Missouri side and NDC on the Kansas side. Plenty of work with the contractors there.

While Kansas is the wrong side of the border from the Great State of Missouri, I will still give you a bit of wisdom.
American Central Transport out of Liberty, MO is a good company. They have a lease purchase program that is fair. Oix is a refeer company that hauls a lot of ice cream. One of the best companies. Crete and Core Carrier both located here. I don't know about them. Weston is a smaller company. No idea about them.
But I know that working for the Mega's is not something anyone with experience should be forced into doing. There are many options and the Royals are on a comeback. Might even get to watch some winning football.rcelmo Thanks this. -
Hey op I'm about an hour east of kc. Have u thought of old d? They're in lenexa off KS 10 I think. Home every night...also there's a fedex ground terminal in lenexa and alot of contractors run out of there. Mostly teams tho

How could an experienced drive consider any of the those three?
I get things are bad, but if things are bad there only going to be worse working for those nanny companies.
I have seen a lot of experienced drives sign up for working with one of those companies under the presumption their experience is going to land them a cherry dedicated run. While those runs do exist, rarely does anyone fall into them.
Recruiters make these guys fell that experience is what the company needs. Like the experienced driver will be rewarded for changing the company for the better. The experience those companies are looking for to fill those runs is not truck driving, it is ###-kissing. As a new driver at a mega, the experienced drivers are always years behind in his ###-kissing skills need to land the plum home every week decent paycheck runs. So unless you are up on your ###-kissing skills, or wish to shape them up, realize their are 1000's of other drivers trying to weasel their way into that one good run that makes it worth working for these thieves. That is the one good run the recruiter and the adds keep promoting, the one run makes working for them seam reasonable with decent pay and home time. -
All of them are feces, in different colored toilets.....doesn't matter which one you choose, you will be under-worked, and severely underpaid. What's that? You like e-logs & pissed off dispatch?? Great! Choose either of those companies to grant your wish!
