Winter Boots Recommendations

There are some guys on here that have recommended these:

 

A 400 gram or so boot would be good for getting in and out of the truck all day in the winter.

 

Unless you plan on spending weeks at a time in subzero temperatures, just get regular steel toed boots. Extra thick socks with a pair of thin liner socks underneath will be all you need, even tarping loads in North Dakota in January.

If you are in an ice storm then Yak Traks are nice to have, kind of like strap on crampons to be able to walk across an ice covered parking lot or flatbed.

I have breathable boots for summer and full leather waterproof and insulated for winter, in reality i only put on the hevey boots a few times a year, if its gonna be less than a hour outside i dont bother... not that bad, i do however carry a few extra pairs of socks. Even being a day cab...

 

I do have two pair of boots. Other than my standard steel toed leather boots I have steel toed knee high Itasca rubber boots. It's a sad situation to step down from the cab in 10" high leather boots into 14" of freezing slush.
