There is a new process if you have had 1 DUI and DIDN'T go to jail. This can be done at a border crossing by a BCIC officer. There is provision allowing for a one-time fee waiver for this process if the applicant meets the following requirements:
The whole process is listed here:
- was convicted of an offence and received no term of imprisonment as part of the sentence imposed; and
- has had no other convictions or committed any other acts that would render the person inadmissible.

I saw mentioned earlier that "dui is a felony here (Canada)"
Felony here in ct too-1st offense is prison time as well (if that's what you are actually convicted of... If you're a politician or rich somehow it gets pleaded down to something else). -
Now do bare in mind, that Canada's Temporary Resident Permit applies to ALL felonies and misdemeanors provided there has only been one, and no jail time occurred other than the arrest.
Still, anyone interested in seeing if they are eligible for a TRP, or on being admissible should submit a "For Information Only" Application For Rehabilitation to see where they stand.KriegHund Thanks this. -
I remember when a Canadian trucker hit the central artery bridge by the boston garden...... Drunk and took off . He didn't get far...
Glass trucks or houses ....KriegHund Thanks this. -
