When you are stuck in the mud like this so your truck doesn't get pulled apart.

My trucks have double frame front to back and for the amount of heavy and off-road I do, single is just not and option. Logging especially. Single frame trucks off road don't last very long

Yeah not sure why I said that, sorry to many things going on tonight. When I wrecked my truck last year for a little bit I thought they were going to total it I was already to spec a new T800 glider, had it all speced then they decided to fix my truck.

    Oxbow Thanks this.

So. If you are hauling a load that weighs 100Klbs. and you have a 4 axle tractor wb 270, 16k front axle, 40K rears, 20k lift, 3 axle trailer with a 2 axle booster. Is there a need even going offroad??

What caused the KW to break?

Did that just happen on that haul road or is something missing from the picture?

As for the WS, how long did it take to get that outta the muck?

@UltraZero Depends on where the customer wants it or where the crane is set up. Most off road driving is going to be as good or better than asphalt. There will be times that you are going to get into twisting the frame and such but if 90% of your time is spent on the blacktop you do not need a double frame.

Don't know, they are just oilfield pics. I do know of a Hutterite farm that pulled apart a Peterbilt two years ago here in Saskatchewan. It was sunk in a field dragging a super-b train hopper bottom. They put a 12 tire four wheel drive tractor in front and took a run at it using 12" recovery straps. The straps held up fine, put the truck looked just like that Kenworth.
